Shelter Management
Adult / Child Care Facilities
Department of Human Services (DHS,
formerly the Family Independence Agency or
FIA) and Department of Consumer and
Industry Services (CIS) contract with our office on a fee for service basis to
conduct environmental health and safety inspections at Child Care Centers,
Adult Foster Homes, Children's Camps and Institutions, Family Day Care Homes,
Foster Family Homes, Group Homes and Adoption Evaluations. Services include
requested inspections, complaint investigations and participation in
administrative or formal enforcement actions pertaining to the environment.

Neighborhood Nuisance Complaints
Nuisance Abatement includes activities associated with the resolution of
complaints concerning generalized environmental sanitation concerns such as air
pollution, refuse and garbage, dead animals, abandonment of refrigerators and
freezers, communicable disease control, emergency sanitation, housing,
industrial hygiene, school environment, premise sanitation, surface waters and
bathing beaches, and insect and vermin control.
