The Tuberculosis (TB) clinic routinely handles the treatment, and supplies medication for the majority of the active TB cases in Genesee County.

Program staff is responsible for the case managing, surveillance, contact investigation and treatment follow-up for all suspect/active TB cases.

Staff perform Directly Observed Therapy (DOT). DOT is the method of observing the actual ingestion of a client's TB medication by a health care worker. DOT is used to facilitate compliance to anti-tuberculosis medication in order to stop the transmission of the disease, prevent drug resistance, ensure uninterrupted TB therapy, and to ensure completion of therapy.
