The Genesee County Health Department Immunization Program offers a variety of immunization services to community residents. The goal of the program is to reduce the incidence of vaccine preventable diseases.

Services include:

  • Providing immunization clinics for childhood and adult vaccines
  • Scheduling Influenza clinics during the fall flu immunization campaign
  • Initiating prompt outbreak control measures for diseases such as pertussis, hepatitis A
  • Coordinating immunization record assessment, tracking and reporting for all school new enrollments at all public, private and charter schools in Genesee County
  • Coordinating immunization record assessment, tracking and reporting for all licensed day care facilities in Genesee County
  • Providing vaccines to physicians who participate in the Vaccine For Children (VFC) Program
  • Conducting site visits to VFC providers to ensure proper vaccine usage, storage and handling
  • Providing special clinics to help employers comply with OSHA and MIOSHA guidelines
  • Providing special clinics for school and community programs
  • Providing updates and educational opportunities for immunization providers
  • Sending educational material to the parents of all newborns in Genesee County
  • Sending reminder notices to the parents of preschool children not up to date with immunizations,
  • Collaborating with other immunization providers through the Genesee County Immunization coalition
