Public Opinion Survey Regarding Smoke-free Air Legislation
On May 1, 2010, the Michigan Legislature passed state-wide,
smoke-free workplace legislation. On March 1, 2010, the Michigan Department of
Community Health (MDCH) conducted a pre-law survey to determine Michigan
resident’s support for the smoke-free air law. MDCH is currently conducting a
post-law public opinion survey now through September 3, 2010. The purpose of
the survey is to assess knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of Michigan
residents now that the law has been in effect for a period of three months.
The Genesee County Health Department (GCHD) will be assisting
MDCH by posting the survey link on our website and by distributing the survey to
clients and community agencies. The survey is only ten questions and is
anonymous. Genesee County residents can take the survey on-line at
http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22AYU42UNHD or go to the Public Opinion
Survey link on the GCHD web page at www.gchd.us
under the News & Events section. Residents who would like to complete the
survey but do not have internet access can contact the GCHD for a hard copy of
the survey.
