RE:  Hobo’s Back Restaurant and Bar recognized for smoke-free environment

         The Hobo’s Back Restaurant and Bar, located at 3166 Comer Street in Flint, recently opened as a smoke-free restaurant and bar.  Providing a smoke-free environment demonstrates Hobo’s Back cares about the health and well-being of its customers and employees.   

The Hobo’s Back will be presented with a Smoke-free Dining Award by the Genesee County Health Department and the Smoke-free, Multi-Agency Resource Team (SMART).  Their award will be presented on Friday, September 4, 2009, at 3:30p.m.  This award recognizes the Hobo’s Back for providing Genesee County residents with a healthy environment as a smoke-free restaurant. 

”I opened smoke-free because there are a lot people on oxygen and a lot of people whose health is deteriorating.  I want to make it easier on them,” stated owner Betty Fawcett.  The Hobo’s Back is joining over 320 restaurants in Genesee County that are already smoke-free.  To access a complete listing of smoke-free restaurants in Genesee County visit www.gchd.us and click on Smoke-free Dining Guide.
