RE:
FREE Health Screening for Seniors
Health screening tests become especially necessary as we grow older. Age
increases the risk for developing disease, such as breast, colon or prostate
cancer. Early detection is the key to survival. Unfortunately, due to
limited finances, many older people do not seek or receive these life-saving
tests.
For
Genesee County residents age 60 years and older, screening tests including:
cholesterol, glucose, BUN/creatinine (checks kidney function), Prostate
Specific Antigen (PSA), hemoglobin, and vaccines if needed are available at
the Genesee County Health Department. Screening is free and is provided at
both the Burton Branch of the Genesee County Health Department, at G-3373 S.
Saginaw Street, and the McCree North Health Center, at 115 East Pierson Road
in Flint. To make an appointment, please call (810) 237-4570 and ask for
Senior Adult Health Screening.
To learn more about these and other services your
Genesee County Health Department provides, visit us at
