The Genesee County Health Department presents Dr Jennifer Aurandt to speak on global warming as the first in a series of speakers addressing “Green” or environmentally friendly issues. Dr. Aurandt received her PhD from the University of Michigan in Biological Chemistry. She is a member of the Kettering Industrial Ecological Team and is the faculty advisor for the Greener Engineering Organization.

Racial, social and economic inequalities are underlying causes of poor health status. Creating environments for healthy living is a public health system strategy in the Health Department’s 2008-2012 Strategic Plan. A strategic plan for reducing exposures to environmental hazards improves the health status in Genesee County.
