Genesee County Health Department
The
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has announced that its President and CEO Risa
Lavizzo-Mourey, M.D., M.B.A. and other key leaders will visit the Genesee County
Health Department on
Thursday, November 3, 2005
. Given its interest in doing
more to support public health infrastructure, the Foundation seeks to visit the
Genesee County Health Department to learn about its recognized work as a local
health department and to learn more about how this work is accomplished through
a variety of partnerships.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is the
country’s largest philanthropy devoted solely to improving the health and
health care of all Americans. The Foundation uses a variety of strategies to
impact its four priority areas which include access to quality health care at
reasonable cost, improved quality of care and support for Americans with chronic
health conditions, the promotion of healthy communities and lifestyles, and
decreasing the personal, social and economic harm cause by substance abuse. In
2004, the Foundation made over 800 grants and contracts totaling $249.3
million to support programs and activities that fulfill its mission. More
